Laura Murphy Design has been among the most interesting new design collectives in the UK of recent years.
Having art commissioned to scale was hugely important (150cm x 115cm), with such specific dimensions it would be impossible to find an appropriate painting in a gallery that would fit the specified size and have the colours needed. The designer wanted the artwork to just feature brown, beige and cream. Decided upon changing the colours of Van Gogh's classic 'Branches of Almond Tree in Bloom'.
